I loved Iron Man and I don't even like the character of Tony Stark. And I was worried because I thought it looked like it was going to be great, but then so did Zathura. I found Robert Downey jr. to be totally engaging, and I really enjoyed all the engineering and A.I. And as much as my current position is "Marvel can go fuck themselves" it was cool that it took place in a coherent Marvel universe. That gag at the end, about the acronym for s.h.i.e.l.d. was an awesome payoff. (If you scroll down that Wikipedia page you'll see a pic of Nick Fury, the guy Xander is trying to emulate now that he wears an eye patch.) I wasn't keen on Gwyneth Paltrow, but that was only because I thought it was a bit much that this Academy award winning actress, who comes from a family that is Hollywood royalty, would show up after a long absence in a doormat-y bit part as someone's secretary. And WTF with those nutso shoes?
