Too much to love about this episode. Amanda, Mark and Betty teaming up. Amanda's nervous eating. Mark's breathing issues - OMG the inhaler! Daniel deterring Betty from doing anything that would cause him to lose her. Dude. Every little bit of that was made of squee. He just declared his working relationship love right there and it was awesome. The elevator scene with Wilhemina and Daniel. The uneasy alliances between all of the former enemies. The elevator scene with Amanda, Mark and Betty, then Fat Carol, and finally just the three of them, Mark with his inhaler, Amanda tossing down her cake, and Betty - "Fat Carol!"
Plus you have Wilhemina being nice to Betty's nephew. Mark and Nephew (am totally blanking on his name! ARGH!) bonding. "...And learn to run really fast."
Now with this new development concerning Papa Suarez, Betty and Daniel have even more in common. Despite the out-of-left-field nature of the reveal, I am curious as to where they're going with that. Did Mr. Suarez come here illegally? Or is there something in his past that he's trying to outrun just like Meade? Very interesting. Go, writers.
Also, keep bringing that funny because I don't think I stopped laughing from the word go.
Meh. I'm suddenly remembering why I stopped watching this show a little over halfway through last season. Even JAckles with his unGodly brand of pretty couldn't keep me entertained by the less than stellar storylines. I'm sick of Sam. Dude, grieving is an individual process and would you just back the fuck off the man? I will say the pop culture references were rather funny, but somehow, I don't know - I just don't see Dean being a John Hughes fan. Color me crazy, but the idea of Dean sitting there, especially through Duckie's lip-synching along to Otis Redding, is beyond my comprehension.
Despite all that, the final scene gutted me. With all the crybaby shit these so-called ANTI-CHICKFLIT moments kind of guys have been throwing back and forth the last few eps, Dean's breakdown felt emotionally true and earned. The boy has been through hell and back, and considering how he handled his recovery in Faith after everything came out, it was very in character. Also, Jensen can work the mantears like whoa and the way his face crinkled up in a completely unselfconscious way.
However, that makeup woman who makes Jensen go to a tanning booth (don't even get me started on how bad that is for you - GRRR.) needs to back the fuck off the foundation. Jesus. I know Jensen is pale (I'm a card-carrying member of the just this side of Vampire myself, so) but you adding thick layers of makeup does not do him any kind of favors, especially in close-ups. Take a cue from the makeup people on DA and embrace the pale freckliness.
We finally had a decent cold front come in. It's supposed to be gorgeous through the weekend. I can't wait to open up all the windows and air out the house. Boo and Lynna won't know which window to pick and will most likely spend the next 48 hours bouncing from sill to sill.

Thus, since I found your fandom opinions interesting, I friended you. If this is not OK, drop me a line, and I'll de-friend.

Friended you back.

UB is very unusual, and fun, and light-hearted yet not completely fluffy. I like the series like crazy, one of the best new series/ series around at the moment.

Yes! I was just talking about this with a friend! They explore the more hilarious aspects of the workplace, specifically one that is driven by such superficialness, but they don't shy away from the darker aspects of it either. One thing is shares with SPN is the focus on family relationships and the way they can lift you up but also the way they bring you right back down.
I'm with you - in mad, crazy love with this show.

Also, I quite like the way Betty and her boss are getting into groove. I adore the workplace stuff, but it needs the family stuff to give the series some depth.
