Come on, it's got Greg Berlanti going for it! (He took over after some behind-the-scenes shitola between Marti Noxon and the network.) While it hasn't quite mastered Everwood's stunning ability to make me cry and awww and miraculously love every character each week, it's improving, slowly but surely. Plus, Everwood never had Matthew Rhys.

Also, if the first couple of eps were any indication of where she was going with just about every storyline, I would not be the fan I am today. (I would have stopped watching after the second episode.) Sure, they are using some soapy standards, but Berlanti has this ability to give them this really human base so even if you've seen the story a million times, you're riveted.
