Yeah. It's because he's a nurse, I think. I liked the pilot too. And I so totally called it with Hiro. I knew everybody would adore him. I have to say I liked that. A male nurse. Shit, the last time I saw that on television was on Scrubs, and that was several years ago. Also, I have to say, he's changed up his delivery. I was getting so very tired of that mixture of earnest, angry and confused teenage boy. Perhaps it has something to do with finally playing an adult character?
Hiro - hee. I've liked him since the previews with his "I DID IT!!" Utterly adorable, and I was cheering him on the entire way. The only downside is I kept getting that stupid song from Fast and the Furious: Toyko Drift stuck in my head. And I'd actually start singing it out loud, too. "Toyko! Drift!" Grr.
The use of the subtitles was also very cool. Another excellent example of good subtitle usage: Night Watch.
