Sep. 3rd, 2006 11:15 pmI love this quote from The Family Stone:
"You were just a little girl in a flannel nightgown...and you were shoveling snow from the front walk in front of our house. And I was the snow. I was the snow...and everywhere it landed and everything it covered. And you scooped me up...with a big red shovel.
You scooped me up."
It wouldn't be half as affecting if not for Luke Wilson's delivery. He just nailed it. Made what could have come across as cheesy, as the worst kind of pick-up line, and he gave it meaning, gave it truth.
I loved the movie. Adored it. Sobbed from about halfway through and then a lot more afterward. Everyone came bringing their A-game and it showed. Plus the extras, specifically the (far too) brief Q & A session and Sarah Jessica Parker and Dermot Mulroney's commentary, are not to be missed. I swear, what with all the giggling and the bringing of the funny, I could listen to SJP and Mulroney chit-chat just about non-stop.
