1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Both, but hot chocolate is more of a year-round staple in our house. Although I prefer the egg nog spiked, preferably with rum and mixed with whipped heavy whipping cream.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Always wrapped, although with the advent of gift cards, there are more envelopes and/or colored boxes with ribbons.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Multi-colored lights on the tree just because I love all that color, but on the outside of the house I prefer all green lights. First, it's my favorite color. Second, they look fantastic with our yellow house.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope, although my mom and grandfather nearly brained themselves one year trying to knock it loose from a tree with a giant wrench. It was quite amusing after the fact, and since Grandma and I were not around to see the idiocy first hand.

5. When do you put your decorations up? Mom and I have been in the house going on four Christmases now and we've only decorated once (last year). This year isn't looking too good either, what with Mom finishing up school and her first semester of clinicals, plus we work such opposite schedules.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Tie: cranberry sauce (homemade) and dressing (Mom makes this foccacia dressing with chestnuts and red bell peppers and it is AWESOME).

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? I mentioned this to [livejournal.com profile] briary_flower a few weeks back, but it has to be one of the years I spent Christmas with my dad's family. We were over at my aunt and uncle's house that year (we rotated between their place and my nana's), and the cousins and I crept down the hall towards the living room ridiculously early to sneak a peek. We found a CASTLE OF PRESENTS in front of the tree, and I think we stood there for a full five minutes in shock. It was just beyond amazing.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't remember if there was even a moment at all, or if I just sort of realized on my own.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? The past few years, yes, since Mom and I haven't been off together on Christmas (more often than not, she's working).

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Lights, ornaments, icicles - the works.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it, but then I haven't ever had to deal it with any sort of regularity. We did have a white Christmas here two years ago and it was absolutely beautiful.

12. Can you ice skate? Nope, but I've always wanted to learn.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Well, this year my grandma bought me a laptop, so that was pretty amazing and unexpected.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Apple Pie a la Zing. It's traditional apple pie with cranberries mixed in and it's absolute heaven.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? These have fallen by the wayside as I've grown older, but I loved the huge family dinners we used to have when I was with my father's family. It would be me, my cousins, my dad, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, a lot of my aunt's family, and whatever family had come in from Louisiana that year. It was chaotic and the most fun.

17. What tops your tree? Either an angel or a star.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Hands down, giving. There is nothing like it.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? The Christmas Song and White Christmas.

20. Candy Canes? Like crack for me. As a kid, I would systematically pilfer them from the tree. Always start at the back.
