Waitress was lovely. More than anything, I came away with this: this was Adrienne Shelly's love letter to her daughter. Mom agreed, and added, "And that's one lucky girl because that was an amazing love letter." And this one scene stuck out at me and made me get all teary-eyed and lump-in-the-throat. Small spoiler. )

I plan to see Knocked Up this Sunday because I'm hoping Ngoc and I can just drive home following the play on Saturday afternoon. I doubt it'll go for longer than three hours (please, God, don't let it go for longer than three hours), and it's only a little over four hours to Forth Worth. We'll see, I guess. I need to call Ngoc. ETA: A nice interview with the pretty, pretty Jensen he did for Star-Telegram.

Before Waitress, they showed the trailer for A Mighty Heart, and it looks amazing (with all that talent I never doubted it). However, I cannot bring myself to watch it. The gall of Brad and Angelina and everyone else involved casting a WHITE WOMAN in the role of a BLACK WOMAN. Now, I'm aware Angelina is great friends with Marianne Pearl and Angelina was given Marianne's blessing. I don't care. That they didn't even think beyond that, to their intended AUDIENCE, smacks of so much white privilege that I just can’t even think clearly. It’s so fucking ignorant and arrogant. *feels stabity*
