rubykatewritingI am totally loving Brothers & Sisters. I'm digging the chemistry between Sally Field and Matthew Rhys a ridiculous amount. Even back in the second episode, as they fought over the remote, they felt like mother and son. To be fair, I really enjoy Rhys as Kevin overall, from his interactions with his siblings, but still. With Field, he just shines and you feel that history.
I'm hoping that this new job will lead to some kind of awakening for Justin. He knows he's fucked up, but he is clueless as to what to do with that. Perhaps someone outside his family taking a chance on him, pushing him, will send him toward sobriety. But Tommy cutting him off is another positive step. For me, it seems that Justin, as the baby - maybe a surprise pregnancy? - has been a bit cherished, protected, in such a way that he's skated by, gotten away with things that for any other one of his siblings they would have been taken to task.
Now, I have a weakness for Josh Hopkins, so I'm enjoying Warren's wooing of Kitty. I think Kitty likes Warren, but I'm not sure her attraction is on the same level as Warren's. Plus there is her determination to win back Jonathan (hello, boring), so I'm not willing to place any bets on the winner, or if either man will "win" her at all. (It's also a reunion since he guested on Ally McBeal back in the day during that eye-roll inducing, forced quadrangle between Ally, Jenny, Raymond, and Glenn.)
And finally, I adore Paige.
In other news, I made this pumpkin turkey chilli today and it was so yummy. Thick and hearty and completely at odds with the sudden warm up weather-wise. But since I don't think it's stopped raining for more than two hours all day, I pretended it was not just dreary and soaking but nippy too.
