"I've had my eye on you all year long."

I caught Fracture yesterday. SO GOOD. Surprisingly funny and intense, and I LOVED the payoff and Willie's character arc. It was believable, as was the ending. All in all, one of my best movie experiences thus far this year. (I think Zodiac was the last time I left the theater so thoroughly satisfied.)

Oh, and Ryan Gosling is so the Canadian Christian Bale. Just, you know, FYI. In case you didn't get the memo.

A few of the movies I'm eagerly anticipating in the next few weeks/months:
Stardust
28 Weeks Later
Martian Child
Georgia Rule
ETA: D'OH! Knocked Up

Apropos of nothing, I am officially a go for John/Rashida. Yes, I know they were just waiting on pins and needles for my approval. But seriously! Look how cute they are! What with John being ginormous compared to Rashida! ADORABLE, people!

And here's a little Gyllenhaal to start off the week because seriously, if I could, I would marry that entire damn family because they are AWESOME. Oh, Jake, honey, I’ll love you forever for this: "I see politicians struggle as I see other actors struggle. Actors and politicians share a lot of similarities. And it's a sad time when politicians have to act. I feel like when you appeal to everybody, it may seem that everybody likes you, but is that really who you are? The ability to be human is to have people like you or not like you. But when you're in the job of getting votes, it's, like, who are you gonna be?" Dude. SIGH.

OMG! I had the exact thought yesterday! It's great to see someone agrees! (I am waiting for Fracture like whoah.)

Hee! HE TOTALLY IS! I was sitting there in the theater, wondering, "Who does he remind me of?" And then BAM! It hit me. He even looks like Bale in a couple of scenes.

I say they play brothers and do broody things for two hours. Storyline, smoryline. Oh, and it must co-star Clive Owen and Matthew McFayden as Brit brothers who also brood. Just four beautiful men being all broody and serious and talking (I love Bale's American accent like whoa, especially as the Batman, so I could live without that wonderful Welsh accent of his for two hours.)

And so ends my babbling idiocy...

(I am waiting for Fracture like whoah.)
It was so good, like the second I got out of theater, I called Ma and gushed about it for a solid two minutes while she stood hostage on the other end of line, doing the perfunctory "Uh-huh..." and "Really?" and "Well good." like the good mommy she is.

I know! Bale and Gosling really look alike. (And I love any accent on Bale: he is so frelling good with accents, and everything. Just whoah, and Gosling is not far behind. They are both actors whose projects I await greatly, every time.)

Gosling managed a convincing Oklahoma accent (which is very similar to the Texan). I'd love to see him pull off Brit, though, but yeah, I adore their movie choices. They really pick some plum roles.

I have nothing against John and Rashida, but I have to say it: Don't steal the tall boys. The tall girls need them.

HA! I know. It's simply not the same with the tall girl/short boy combo. Plus I know a lot of tall girls who refuse to date someone shorter than them, which I totally understand since I'm just a tick over 5'7, and the guy has to be at least 6'0 for me to even look his direction.

Which is why I am in full support of Natalie Portman and Gael Garcia Bernal – short + short (I mean, seriously, the guy is POCKET-SIZED).

1. To whomever took those pictures: GOT STALK?

2. Tall boys + short girls = babies with crooked teeth. It's science.

3. There's a great emo clip of Jake G. on YouTube from Homicide. He's like, 10 or something. If I can find it in the next two seconds, I'll give you the link.

I know! (Of course, it didn't stop me from linking them.) But it's something that has gotten progressively worse, or I'm just really paying attention lately. I think the moment it became clear the paps and fans have gone soul-broke is the post of Jake G. shopping at the local Whole Foods. He was in the fucking dairy section. How the fuck is that pap-worthy? I actually felt guilty being a member of [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt.

Hahaha. I need linkage.

Hello. That hair. GUH. I so would have crushed on him back in the day since I am pathetic.
