James T. Kirk being his awesome, badass self set to the Brit's Circus. No, seriously, people, IT WORKS SO HARD.

Oh, one more thing: YOU'RE WELCOME.

That video was the most magical part of my day so far. Granted, I am still in bed so it doesn't have much competition, but I think it'll still be the awesomest thing come sundown.

Also, I came out of the movie with a big thing for Spock, and Spock/Uhura, but I have to say, upon repeat viewings, Kirk really is a BAMF. I am liking him more and more as time goes by.

Spock owned me the second little Spock came on the screen. What surprised me is just how much I loved Quinto-as-Spock because I spent most of my Heroes-watching days decidedly unimpressed with him as Sylar. Of course, I think it’s becoming abundantly clear that Heroes is an all-out suckfest, so. Also: Quinto-as-Spock is VERY VERY attractive.

And Kirk, as portrayed by Pine, is my absolute weakness, but then reading that he took inspiration from Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Indy, it's really no surprise. I basically ingested that shit in utero. It essentially imprinted on my DNA.

It is the most perfect vid ever. It's rather embarrassing how many times I've watched it in the past few weeks.

ETA: To complete the crackvid trifecta, Spock/Kirk set to "Poker Face".

The cuts on the "Poker Face" vid is what does it for me. Especially the way it works that final scene when they're facing Nero? And Spock turns to have an aside with Kirk? AND I'M DYING ALL OVER THE PLACE OVER IT.

It is days like this that make me oh so happy to be a fangirl.

I am kind of SCARILY OBSESSED with this video. Isn't it the greatest?! I even made my father (an old-school Trek fan who hasn't seen the movie) watch the vid because I wanted to squee over it with someone! But a fifty-something reserved man isn't an ideal squee partner.

Self: Isn't it AMAZING?! Doesn't it just TOTALLY CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF KIRK? And aren't the cuts JUST PERFECT? (Goes on in this vein for five solid minutes.)

Dad Unit: Yeah, it was good.

HEEEE. My mom always gets this look on her face when I go absolutely fangirl on her. It's similar to the look my dog gets on his face when I go all-out squee: "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NOISE COMING OUT OF HER MOUTH?"

Yeah, I’m still LOLing forever that you made your dad watch it. Isn’t being a fangirl equal parts thrilling and embarrassing? It reminds me of this article with Amy Sherman-Palladino, when she described the time she made her father listen to Prince with her. I think it was his “Cream,” and it wasn’t until halfway through, dear Amy realized her major error. They were both mortified but neither could move. Like, they couldn’t even look at each other.
