Allergy season has begun in earnest. I'm in a perpetual state of sneeze and/or almost sneeze with the lovely pre-sneeze itch. Blech.

Houston in the fall and spring HATES ME. Just sees me coming down the street and bumrushes me for a swift kicking of the ass. I'm like that girl in those ridiculous commercials a few years back, with the giant weed beating her about the head and neck.

Anyway, meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] carrielh.

I'm also in full-on, no holds barred, love with How I Met Your Mother. I love the relationships between everyone, and I adore the non-credits with the bum-bum-bahs and the candids. The cast is great and fun, and I love the history inherent in each episode, as if I'm catching a little snapshot of the lives of this group of friends each week. And I don't think I could even begin to pick my favorite character.

Now, I'm liking The Class okay, but it's mostly to do with Jason Ritter and Lizzy Caplan, and my great wish for them to make out randomly and often. Especially with that longer hair Jason was sporting tonight. So, PTB, see to that STAT.

With these two and Heroes every Monday night, I'm a very happy girl. Speaking of Heroes, HOLY SHIT! I just. No words. With Hiro and his teleporting and Claire with creepy Daddy. I really wondered what would happen once Daddy Bennett found out, if it would somehow sway him as far as his mission goes. I thought it would be interesting to see that play out, that struggle, but it seems that even with his daughter being a superhuman, he's sticking to his current course. Talk about fucked up.

And now I'm off to bed.

I'm very happy with the way Heroes is going. I'm finding those scenes with Pete and his mummy to be very affecting. I like the way they touch foreheads, like cats. I really like the production value - it's beautifully shot. Man! I'm so fucking paranoid about large, clumsy teenage boys. Something like that happened to me in high school, but it was a lacrosse player. I just like the space of the show. I recognize it. What they're doing - and as a former comic book geek I really appreciate it - is they're making a comic. It's sort of hilarious, actually.

I like that, too. From my limited knowledge of cats (despite my having them as pets since I was about five), it is a cat's way of showing ownership, which for me, when Sammy finally did that a couple of summers ago after years of a very, very temperamental relationship (he was Mom's cat), I felt like I won the fucking lottery.

I really like the production value - it's beautifully shot.
It's downright pretty to look at. I love the colors (for instance, when we're panning over the streets to meet up with Hiro on the rooftop and that vibrant green of astroturf against all the muted grays and tans - gorgeous) and the lighting is seems to be themed for each area, sort of like what Soderbergh did with Traffic.

Man! I'm so fucking paranoid about large, clumsy teenage boys.
Jeez, it is only after spending two weeks with my cousin that I finally appreciate this sentiment. He's fourteen, 6'2, and just plain old thick. He also doesn't seem to realize that he is as strong as he is, so when he gives you a light "tap", you feel like your arm is about to fall off, or you wish it would because, HELLO FUCKING PAIN!

is they're making a comic.
Yes! And that's my favorite part of all. Those paintings and the comic books - the artwork is gorgeous. The chapter numbers at the beginning of each episode as well as the names and locations of each character the first time we catch up with them in an episode. It's just totally freaking awesome.

6. Hands to Heaven, Breathe (I'm slightly ashamed of knowing this one and slightly jealous you have it on your mp3 player)
14. Like a Virgin, Madonna
18. SexyBack, Justin Timberlake (at least I think that's what it's called)
24. Hide and Seek, Imogen Heap

Damn girl. I knew a couple were total gimmes, but you're good.

(I'm slightly ashamed of knowing this one and slightly jealous you have it on your mp3 player)
Heh. God, when I was eleven, that song was IT. If the video came on MTV, I would have to watch it, everything else be damned. Oh the things that make life worth living as a preteen.

Ha, oh I know. That song! I believe I had it on a cassette single.

Cassettes! Yeah. Those those were the days. You know, I'm pretty sure I still have several still packed away somewhere.

I would tell you the artists, but sadly, those are more embarrassing than having Breathe on my mp3 player.

Oh, and ICON LOVE!

1. I am positive I know this one; I can hear it in my head. AH.
16. Small Town - John Mellencamp
21. Girl From Mars - Ash
24. Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap

And YES to Heroes! I assumed he knew the first time he talked to Claire in this episode - I don't know why - but I hadn't realized it was he who found the tape until...well, the obvious.

You got 21 and 24 right. Think something more modern for 16, like, say in the past couple of years. As for 1, I point you towards the GG soundtrack.

And YES to Heroes! I assumed he knew the first time he talked to Claire in this episode - I don't know why - but I hadn't realized it was he who found the tape until...well, the obvious.
See what adds to the whole creepiness of Claire's dad, a.k.a., Horned Rimmed Glasses, is the fact that he's played by Jack Coleman, one Mr. Steven Carrington #2, or Matt in Bridesmaids. He was the pleasantly good looking, always affable everyman from the 80s, and it is totally wigging me out to see him playing such a villian. A villian willing to go after the little girl he's raised and loved and protected for sixteen years.

*shudder*

I haven't watched tonight's "How I Met..." yet, but I adore that show. It makes me smile every week. It doesn't feel like work like some shows (cough, Prison Break and Lost, cough). I miss my Barney icon. :(

"Heroes" was awesome tonight.

Dude. Exactly! Ooh, last night's episode was pretty funny. I love some of the narrative choices they make to tell a story, and last night's was no different. I also think it's a set up for things to come as far as Ted and Robin, which was nice, because I'm really looking forward to how they're going to work it that they break up and yet remain such close friends that Ted's kid know her as Aunt Robin.

Another thing - Barney was on FIRE last night. His wooing of Ted's parents was utterly fabulous.

"Heroes" was awesome tonight.
It was, and I really, really hope they sustain this momentum because I may complain about the excitement, the nonstop squeeing at this point, but I love it. I love being this fangirly.

Damn. I need a Heroes icon.
