Is it wrong that my first reaction to news that Cassandra Claire was plagiarized is to laugh? Or that the thought that immediately follows is Are we sure CC didn't plagiarize that herself?

Well, I had never heard of Cassandra Claire before your post. However, a quick google lead me to a slew of information about her legendary plagarism activities. I wonder what she'll do now that it's happened to her?

It would be interesting to see if she'll take the same stance as she did when she was caught, which is that it isn't plagiarism if you list what you took. *rolls eyes*

You know, I kept reading that Cassandra thing I googled. Beyond the plagarism issue, I found that she did something far worse in my opinion. She listed her PO Box on her ff.net page and asked people to send her money if they liked her writing. Outrageous! That is the cardinal sin in fanfic - you never never ever ever ever make a profit off your fiction. JK Rowling (and her licensees) is the only one entitled to profit from Harry and the gang. I am absolutely incredulous that this woman tried to get paid for HP fanfic. Wow.

What really boggles is the fact that people still defend her, going so far as to get in a little tiff on her book bage over at Amazon with those of us who think she is the aforementioned vortex of suck.

(To say that I'm bitter [even though I haven't written a stitch] would be an understatement, not the least of which is due to this whole mess but also a helluva lot to do with the fact that I think she's complete shite as a writer.)
