Lawmaker Wants Bible Classes In Schools

No. Just no. That's what Sunday school classes are for, or bible study groups. This should not be permitted in schools, elective or otherwise. After that whole underage abortion thing (and re-electing Rick Perry AGAIN), I didn't think I could feel any more ashamed of my state but fuck if this don't prove me wrong.

You are officially on notice, Texas.

Wow. That is just wrong on so many different levels, not even counting the Constitutional mandate for separate of church and state.

Take heart though.... every state has some sort of legislated stupidity (I'm thinking of my beloved Virginia that allows gassing of animals as a form of euthanasia). Texas does not hold the market on idiot legislators.

Oh, yeah, totally. It's simply a matter of all these things coming together all at once, but I've come to the conclusion that a lot of the things important to folks here (aside from the rare liberal enclave here and there) are in direct opposition to the things I hold dear.

Dude. EXCELLENT icon.
