Speak is on Lifetime right now. I love it a lot. It is such a perfect adaptation of the book. Steven Zahn as Mr. Freeman was a stroke of genius. That moment towards the end when Melinda shows him her secret room? GUTS me ever damn time I watch. My favorite, though, is the end of the movie, Melinda in the car with her mother, finally telling her everything.

Sweet Jesus, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

In other news, that of the WTF variety, a bug committed suicide against the side of my head. I thought it rather rude and presumptuous of the bastard.

Is that the girl who spent that whole movie, whatchamacallit, frozen, and then made eyes at her own brother? BTW, having a bug hit you in the head is better than having one go into your mouth when you're running. Not that I would know anything about that.

That would be her. Guh. I really was disappointed with that film. Like, to a ridiculous degree. I was expecting a Jumanji and instead I got that.

HEE! Yeah, back when I was on the swim team, night practices were completely ruined after I swallowed a junebug (they absolutely COAT the pool surface) whilst doing the backstroke. Came up for a breath and had the bonus of some unwanted protein. *shudders*

Bleargh. Don't junebugs weigh 15lbs or something?

Goodness, no. They're tiny little things. I've hated them since I was a child. My grandparents' back porch would be covered with them come the end of summer. The cousins and I would walk out at night and they're impossible to see or avoid them. All you would hear was *crunchcrunchcrunch* under your feet. So fucking gross.

However, the fireflies were fantastic up in Dallas back when I was a kid. We would spend hours watching them. God, I miss fireflies.

I have fireflies! Er, in my backyard. I never saw one before I moved here.

Aren't they fantastic? God, I love 'em. Sadly, there aren't any down here in Houston.
