I cannot stop crying.

It was all downhill from the moment NPR announced, not even five minutes after I got in the car after class, that Obama had taken Ohio.

Today is a beautiful day.

BRB. SOBBING AGAIN.

I started crying about halfway through his speech and haven't really stopped. Do you know how happy it makes me to see all those different colored people up on stage together, as the new America I'm so proud of?

This is amazing. (And this music isn't helping at all.)

Today is a beautiful day.

You can say that again. May your new president be kickass all the way (and I mean that in a non-violent, non-warmongering, non-reactionary way.)

Ultimately it was the Rev. Jesse Jackson who did me in, because the expression on his face was the entire history of African Americans in the United States. But I have to admit I was almost sick with nervousness when the Obamas finally came out with their little girls. I had spoken to my mum earlier and she was so worried someone was going to shoot him, and even though at that moment I had faith in the people of America that this is real and we are all entering a new era, I couldn't help but be very anxious. If you look at the footage, Michelle sort of trots a bit at the end, whisking those children out of there.
