The unintentional humor was HILARIOUS. The sparkling scene? *DIES ALL OVER AGAIN* I was just glad to be under the cover of darkness as I have a major embarrassment squick. I thought it had been well and truly put down by my Office watching, but alas, no. SO STILL THERE.
A mixture of both. Like, the "dazzling" scene was horribly bad to the point of hilarity. And then there was the so-called "Smugward" moment - the scene where Bella and Edward are walking through the school parking lot and he's grinning with the Wayfarers on - and I was suddenly like, "HELLO, EDWARD. Ditch the limpnoodle and come-a on over here." Also, the Cullens were ADORABLE.
I've had a long discussion with my cousin about this, because apparently I only clued in recently that I'm an RPattz girl. SEND HALP. This will only work out if said cousin indeed gets sent to ComicCon next year to interview the cast, and I get to go along as her baggage handler.
You MUST go to ComicCon. It is mecca for all geeks, and geeks must make the pilgrimage before they die.
I thought the boy wasn't bad, given what he had to work with, and he has the good sense to be embarrassed by it all. The girl ... she is sadly everything Alexis Bledel was unfairly accused of for 7 seasons by TWoP. In fact, I kept flashing on Jared Padaleki's ineptitude on SPN. Never present in the moment, all emotions simply pasted on expressions that have been practiced in the mirror. With respect to the film, I am quite anti-Stephenie Meyers, but I think it's bullshit that it was all such a big deal and the film is so crappy. I think it's mercenary, and disrespectful to the girls who are paying for the product. Very Lou Perlman, I see a tween, I shall exploit her.
