Having watched Fracture for the fifty-millionth time last night, I want some Willie/Mona fic. It is so totally obvious she wants him, but then, who wouldn't? He might be a morally ambiguous character, but he's funny and hot with the added bonus of being the big no-no in the working world, i.e., the whole he's her boss thing.

I have ideas, wherein she's been reassigned to some other part of the DA's office upon his return to the FOLD OF JUSTICE, and while he isn't exactly living the monk's life, they run into each other outside of work. He'd be like, "We should do something." She would be like, "FINALLY." And oh god, it would be a thing of clichéd beauty! IT WOULD BE AWESOME.

This song is awesomely appropriate because much like Fuck Yeah! Ryan Gosling is representative of his behavior with his "girl" IN MY HEAD, I think this could be his theme song. DO NOT TRY TO TALK ME OUT OF THIS FANTASY. I LIVE IN A HAPPY PLACE BECAUSE OF IT.

Have you seen the deleted scenes? Yeah, the part with Willie and Nikki when he doesn't sleep over? WHY DID THEY TAKE OUT THE AWESOME PIGGY-BACKING DOWN THE STAIRS? The director/editor are a couple of funsuckers for that one. It takes Ryan's hotness to a whole 'nother level, man. I'm just, you know – please excuse the excessive drooling whilst I sneak over to that there corner over there and have REALLY REALLY nasty thoughts.

OR. There could be a totally original story, with characters called Billy and Sonia (Billy being inspired by Ryan Gosling in the way that Inkheart was inspired by Brendan Fraser, or in the way that James Marsters and Adrian Paul inspire ... everything), and what happens is she's been reassigned to some other part of the DA's office upon his return from (INSERT BACKSTORY HERE), and they run into each other outside of work. And there is some McGuffin crime story framework. And you could write it and it would be unfanfic-y awesomeness.

So basically a reworking of Motherless Brooklyn, except Lionel is not a hapless PI but an assistant DA and Kimmery the assistant who adores him and isn't more than a little exasperated by his very existence, yes? (Side note: I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope Ed Norton is, in fact, adapting this for film. Please, movie gods, make this be true.)

Also, I'm actually reworking Nowhere that Isn't Meant into a proper short story. I know there are some who think it's deplorable to mine your fanfic for your original fiction, but I say fuck the haters.
