I took Jack to the groomers on Saturday. I wanted to get him just a little trim, but ended up going with a much more drastic cut:



It's hard to see in the pic (crappy cell phone pic is waaay crappy), but he also got a mohawk, which greatly amused TrainerBilly at class that night since he, too, had just cut his hair into a mohawk. Although TrainerBilly thinks I should have the mohawk go all the way down Jack's back, but yeah, NO. I'm much more inclined to go with Mom's idea: PUNK!Jack at Halloween, complete with one of the older boys' old studded collars, a little blue food coloring to the mohawk, and a faux leather wrist band.

Needless to say, the boy is feeling much cooler now.

This post made me die of adorable. Seriously. I have taken to randomly accosting people I meet on the street who are walking their dogs and asking to pet them. (It must happen a lot, since we're not allowed to have large pets on campus, as they seem fairly used to it. The other day I met a giant something-poodle that came up past my waist, and today a chocolate lab.)

My cousin has had dogs all her life, so her first year at uni has been a bit of an adjustment. She actually texted me the first time she saw her first dog on campus. “I RAN UP TO HIM. HE WAS SO CUTE.” Meanwhile, I’m on the receiving end of that and absolutely PANICKING. It is very possible my dogs are going to be absolutely INTEROLERABLE to live with after her visit in a couple of weeks.

When I was growing up, the only poodles I knew were the small variety. I don't think it was until high school I learned they're actually giant-ass, horse-like dogs, and used for hunting? I was like, oh, yes, take that fluffy, snappy poodle I knew when I was a kid! YOU ARE INFERIOR. (I love dogs, but damn, dude was MEAN.)
