I'd rather play at hug o'war

A couple of fabulous someones wrote Say Anything future fics for yuletide this year, and holy crap are they fantastic. (This was brought to my attention by one of my go-to reccers musesfool.)

We first have The Biggest Fool, which features a man-child version of Lloyd, aged 27. He has rejected his status as It Boy that every girl dreams about but never really wants, and is trying to enjoy bitter slackerhood while floating in a world of indecision. While I was reading it I swear I could hear John Cusack in my head because it is just that ON.

And then there's Not Quite a Success Story, which is short and sweet and lovely and so possible.
