You know what I love about fandom and fanfic the most? No matter how much canon may look like a couple cars running full throttle at each other until they go BING BANG BOOM - or perhaps, more specifically, the writers BEHIND the canon CAN'T DRIVE FOR SHIT - we always have the writers in the audience to salvage something from the wreckage. (Yeah, I DROVE that metaphor into the fucking ground, and I'm stopping now.)

No matter how much it may be pissing me off right now, there are some really fantastic writers doing their thing in the SPN fandom. So. My ISSUES aside, I have a rec:

Following the events that took place in the episode Faith, Dean and Sam find some shelter from the storm, both literally and figuratively. It's just lovely, and it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Amazing OCs and a brief, wonderful appearance by John. I cried at the end.

There is also a sequel, but I'm only about halfway through the current uploaded chapters. It's a WiP but it is turning out just as great as the original.
