Saw POTC3 Saturday. People are catching onto the whole $5 movie before noon. The theater (and concession stand and parking lot) was packed for just shy of 11am. I am not happy about this.

Anyway, I loved the movie. Mom, too. It was a vast improvement over the second, but the second was a lot of set-up for the awesome payoff in the third. Most on my flist have mentioned everything else I loved (and my few quibbles), but I’ve seen a lack of talk with regards to the ending (this includes the scene following the credits). spoilers, spoilers, spoilers. )

And don't hate me, but I REALLY want to see Transformers. Sadly, it only has a tiny bit to do with the fact that Shia stars.

It rained all day yesterday. Like, when Mom flipped over to the Weather Channel at one point, our area was under the orange part of the storm. ALL DAY. RAIN. We didn’t get to have our Pho Bowls at Hot Wok. Max and Boo were in a mood, constantly whining to go out back, and when we’d open the door for them, rain splattering on the linoleum, they’d give us the eyes, as if we had any control over the weather. All in all a sucky-ass, if wonderfully lazy (didn’t get out of my jammies at all) day.

I'm actually considering road-tripping to see this. I blame [livejournal.com profile] halfway2home. Also, the pretty. I'd actually get to see the pretty in person. I have reached new depths of shallow. Who knew? (This icon perfectly captures my feelings on this.)

Must call Ngoc. She mentioned she wanted to start traveling. I'm not sure Fort Worth really rates on her "places to visit" list, but still. I need a buddy if I’m going to indulge this insanity. ETA: So we're going, Ngoc and I. Just bought the tickets. June 9th, 2pm, I will officially hit stalker-status.

I saw The Invisible (ehhh....) and In the Land of Women (some humorous and emotionally resonant moments [mostly thanks to Olympia Dukakis] mixed in with a whole lot of blah, although it did have Annie as the younger sis, which led to one of the most awesome exchanges EVER. Carter: I used to be like you when I was your age. Paige: You were a girl? Hahahahaha. I find mocking Adam Brody so amusing that I'll even take it in character) this weekend. I also got a little bit drunk on ONE margarita. This whole as-little-alcohol-as-possible-so-as-to-aid-the-weight-loss has totally turned me into a lightweight. Not just a lightweight, but a fucking lightweight. My mother could drink me under the table.

One upside to sitting through In the Land of Women is getting to see the trailer for Across the Universe on the big screen. I've heard that there has been some major reworking by the studio, but I still really want to see it.

Oh, and Saturday night I dreamed Ryan Gosling was killed in a tractor accident on the set of his new movie. I woke up DISTRESSED. My first thought? He and Rachel will never be together again. I'm a freak, people. A FREAK.

Huh.

Last night, I dreamed I worked at some kind of Wal-Mart/Sam's type of store. I was put in charge of re-doing an endcap by my boss and I'm pretty sure Ogechi, a friend of Del's I met on our Vegas trip, was my co-worker. However, that was rather ho-hum dream-wise (um, thanks, brain?), until my boss was revealed to be none other than Nathan Fillion, but he was dressed as Mal for some reason. Of course, I had a MAJOR crush on him (despite [or because of?] the strange futuristic western garb), and I was re-doing that endcap like my life depended on it.

But then the dream was thrown for a loop when it was revealed I was actually undercover, trying to discover who it was who sent our abandoned car (with a sleeping [younger] me and a younger brother and sister) to the junkyard for that smashing, it's-an-inch-thick process. I (and the younger brother) survived, but we were set out to avenge the death of the younger sister. (Apparently we were asleep in the car in the Wal-Mart/Sam's parking lot, thus our car was towed to the junkyard. Yeah, I don’t get it either.) Secretly, I was hoping Nathan had nothing to do with it because of the whole marry-me-and-have-my-babies thing I had going for him.

Oh, brain. Sometimes, you concern me.
