Annnnd...two worlds are colliding. My fave cutefunny actor Steve Zahn (Oh, Sammy! I would so let you back in the house, bud. Really.) and my fave hotintense actor Christian Bale are working on a new film together. (Scroll about a little over halfway down the page to bask in the scruffy hotness.) How I have not heard of this before today? Are my secret fears correct? Am I, in fact, living under a rock?

Delaluce and her husband caught last night's mini-marathon of Heroes, and when I climbed into the car this morning, she said, laughing, "Okay, so we're hooked." I'd told them about it previously since he is an artist and a great lover of comic books, and D is down for just about anything on TV.

Needless to say I'm happy and just a teensy bit proud.

She also kindly filched a boxed lunch from her department for me. It's from Paulie's, and they do not skimp, not like Jason's Deli or French Corner. It contained not only the biggest sandwich I've seen in ages (double-decker club with bacon, thick-sliced turkey and ham that from the taste and the texture seemed to come from an actual turkey and pig, Swiss cheese, green leafy lettuce, tomatoes, and spicy brown mustard on the bottom slice of bread, mayo on the top), but a cup of Italian potato salad (big shell-shaped noodles, lots of fresh spinach, chopped black olives, artichokes, celery, and this AMAZING dressing), a cup of fruit salad (red grapes, chunks of orange, pineapple, cantaloupe, and watermelon), and a chocolate chip and pecan cookie.

Now THAT is what I call a boxed lunch.

Skilling Gets 24 Years

With the vacating of Lay's conviction, which I thought was complete bullshit, I wasn't expecting much. While I personally think the guy should be strung up by his balls and left to rot for his complicity in the whole Enron thing, twenty-four years will suffice.

At least he's not getting off scot-free.
