Everyone who has seen POTC: At World's End should go read [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight's Will-centric Limbo. It's gorgeous, for one. The imagery as well as the language, and I love Will's quiet acceptance of his fate because it's SO Will, even if I want to shake him for it.

There's also this old (post-DMC) but absolute goody from [livejournal.com profile] kieyra: The Tale of Saint William the Martyr. It's Jack and Elizabeth and Will and a mix therein. What if Elizabeth really did want Jack? Will and Elizabeth, both broken and wasted and pirates through and through. Again, the language and the dialogue make pretty, pretty. Lovely and hurty and I love it like whoa, even a year later.

And this is all I have to say about Six Apart's current layover in Stupidia: join [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts. As of this writing, the comm is up to 25,000+ members, and fucking hell, it warms my cockles.

You're welcome! It really is a lovely little fic. I heart it like whoa.

Isn't he? Eventhough I think Orlando Bloom is probably a giant douche in real life, he's certainly pretty to look at, and sometimes that's all a girl needs really.

Yeah, that and the fics.

I wonder when/if they'll announce PotC4.

For all Bruckheimer's hemming and hawing, I think it's simply a question of when rather than if. The movies have certainly taken on a life of their own. Plus I really want to know if Jack finds the Fountain of Youth (with Pintel, Ragetti, and Barbossa by his side, o'course).

I read that Depp was really the only one who wanted to do it and they were thinking of cutting out Bloom, which I suppose they could do if it hasn't been 10 years yet.

I think that's why they chose to place the "Ten Years Later" scene AFTER the credits. It clearly separates it from the end of the film, so they totally could. And shit, Orlando OWES that film for so much, even more than LOTR, imo. He should at least put in a cameo.

*hearts Johnny Depp*

I think I read it had something to do with the producers wanting to cut him (maybe for budget?), not Orlando himself. I'm not sure. There's no straight answer about #4 anyway.

Did you think it was weird on GG how they had Logan name Orlando Bloom as the top object of fangirl cushing TWICE. Surely he and Kate Bosworth were over for a long time, but still awkward, man.

True. Gotta say, it'd be weird, no Will.

Um, no. Kate Bosworth LEFT Matt for Orlando. One minute she's at the Blue Crush premiere gushing about Matt, the next, she's sneaking off to the Caribbean to hook up with a bejewled-bracelet-giving Orlando. THAT made it more than a little weird for me.

No, That's what my point was. That I knew she left Matt for Orlando. And then in the first episode as Logan, they have Matt saying, "What they were out of Orlando Bloom?" and another mention this season. Like seriously, writers, do you have to go and do that? Or was it an inside joke about how girls get wrapped up in OB?

I can't imagine they wouldn't have Orlando. Surely fangirls add to their profit. Although, would it be 10 years later, or during those 10 years. The ending is more bittersweet if Will didn't see Elizabeth at all during that time, no?

Ahhh. Huh. It's not as if Matt was allowed to substitue whatever hearthrob in there (especially when ASP was still in charge), so yeah. It doesn't make any kind of sense. Although I will say, some of ASP's pop culture references were a bit out there. My only guess is he was extremely popular at the time (this would have been around the time of POTC: Curse..., right?).

Well, I have a theory Elizabeth at least got word to him, if she didn't visit him that is, about their son since he didn't seem all that surprised at the sight of Will, Jr. standing there beside her. Once or twice wouldn't ruin it for me, because it's not as if they could really do anything. (Remember, she couldn't leave the ship even for her father, or she'd be lost.) The two of them talking across the water, ship to ship? The pining could be electric.

I suppose but surely they should've been more sensitive. Did they have to pick THAT hearttrob. Le Sigh.

I'm curious to see if they even go ahead with it, because it'll be years from now when it's released.
As I understand it, there were several scenes cut in the film which explained more about th eend. Because all the things you just mentioned had me confused, lol.

Oh, I love The Tale of Saint William the Martyr. I need to reread it.

And thanks for the other rec! POTC fandom scares me on its best day, so good fic is hard to find.

I know. I kept thinking about it after I saw AWE. It was my favorite post-DMC fic.

Seriously? I did not know that, and since I actively avoid any and all crazy in fandoms (I cut my teeth on Roswell fandom, so), thanks for the tip. Glad I've stayed away.
